A kangaroo is missing in Yates County. A 2-foot tall kangaroo escaped its handler near Williams Hill Road and Coates Road in the town of Jerusalem on Saturday. Kangaroo sightings can be reported to the Sheriff's Office at (315) 536-4438. Last year, a pregnant kangaroo in Canandaigua caused a stir on social media and was eventually moved out of the city. The owner of that kangaroo owned a petting zoo in a different municipality and the marsupial was only in the city temporarily, city officials said in June. City Manager John Goodwin said the kangaroo's handlers had proper state permits.
