The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) has asked Kenyans to brace themselves for a fourth wave of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic from mid-July.
In a statement on Thursday, July 1, the state corporation said the infections would be fuelled by the highly infectious delta variant linked to India.
According to the study by KEMRI conducted between November 2020 and June 2021 in several counties across the country, an additional 4,300 hospitalisations and 580 deaths from the Delta variant are expected.
