Navy received two separate distress calls this morning, 45 minutes apart, after reports of explosions on the tankers and then rushed the uss bainbridge, a guided missile destroyer, to help. This was in the same waters where four tankers were sabotaged last month, but the damage from the suspected attack this morning appears to be far more serious. The crew was forced to evacuate from one of the ships. And reports are that at least one of the tankers is on fire. The u. S. Blamed iran for the sabotage of the ships last month, a claim in which iran denied.
