Officials say the patient was otherwise healthy and quickly became very ill, developing a severe lung illness after the device which contained thc from a Recreational Marijuana shop. Officials havent revealed the persons age or gender, and they havent determined what sickened the adult or whether the person may have added something to the liquid or tampered with the device after it was purchased but Officials Say the symptoms were consistent with those of more than 200 cases of a mysterious respiratory illness linked to vaping including difficulty breathing, chest pain, vomiting and fatigue. Fda investigators have reportedly found the same chemical in samples of some marijuana products used by some people who have gotten sick across the country. In a statement to abc news the fda saying identifying any compounds that are present in the samples will be one piece of the puzzle but will not necessarily answer questions about causality so, guys, so many questions still around vaping. This happened to an American Airlines jet preparing to take off when the pilots noticed something wrong. It happened in miami, which is an american hub and the federal charges say that the mechanic used a styrofoam material and some super glue to block a port leading to part of the jets flight data system. Now, a tube is supposed to be attached to that port and thats providing Critical Data on air speed and which way the nose is pointed. At the runway the pilots revved the engine and got a warning light so they returned to the terminal with all 150 on board. Now, american found the alteration. This happened in mid july, and they got to Surveillance Video and were able to identify the mechanic. His name is abdulmajeed alani and he admitted that he did try to disable this aircraft. The owner of the boat is speaking out for the first time about the accident, the crew and the passengers who lost their lives. Will carr has the story. Police say this video shows talbot who lives in utah pulling a 6dayold baby out of her sling as she goes through Airport Security to catch her flight back to the United States. A female national of america trying to slip an infant out of the country, a 6dayold infant and the baby had no travel documents. Reporter talbot dressed in an orange detainee shirt was arrested and charged with Human Trafficking. The 43yearold mother of five faces a potential penalty of life imprisonment in the philippines. She passed the immigration counter without declaring the baby. They did not see the baby because she was carrying the baby in a bag. Reporter police say she successfully cleared the immigration counter but as she was getting ready to board her flight she was asked by Airline Personnel about her oversized sling. Based on the instruction on the bag it should be carried in front in an upright position. But then it was not carried that way so there was really an intention to conceal and to sneak out the baby. Reporter talbot was accused of failing to present travel clearance issued by the department of social welfare or written consent from the babies parents. The infant turned over to government welfare personnel. According to the Philippines Bureau of investigation, she met the babys biological mother on the internet. Authorities identifying her as maricris dulap. Dulap telling police, she wanted to offer her baby up for adoption, but now she is facing charges for Human Trafficking along with the unnamed biological father. Talbot has reached out to the u. S. Embassy for help, and told authorities she has no criminal background in the u. S. But the case may take years to resolve. Those memes define life for harmony hobbs, a louisiana mom of three, until she says she made a sobering discovery. She couldnt handle life without alcohol. I would drink a lot at home, wine, just like a glass or two and id feel better and then id get the kids to bed and then i would drink like the rest of the bottle and start on another one. So a bottle and maybe a bottle and a half . Right. She says the stresses of mothering led her to secretly keep filling her glass. Pretty much from the time i woke up i was thinking about the glass of wine i was going to have and i couldnt wait. Reporter the daily drinking taking a toll on her family. The unfortunate part is that my children and husband bore the brunt of my true alcoholic behavior and i was not a good mother. I was not a good wife. Reporter even at age 6 her oldest, maverick, was well aware. Did you know she was drinking a lot of win . Well, i did know that because like i didnt know it was out of the ordinary because thats how i grew up. Thats what i was used to. Reporter finally her best friend and writing partner Audrey Hayworth called her out. And that i think was the moment that i was like, an alcoholic, okay. Reporter eventually this former sipping mom began blogging about her painful journey and the agonizing road to recovery. Its hard to get through hard stuff and not revert back to your coping mechanism. In fact, you say it was the hardest thing youve ever done in your life. It is for sure. Its the thing im the most proud of. Wee reporter today her play dates look different. Laughter without libation and a network of supportive friends. Harmony hobbs tried to create a new kind of mom culture. Sobriety. She hopes that others will join in. Im very proud of her. What are you proudest of . Are you drinking when youre alone and think about are you using it as a coping mechanism as we saw from the video. You know, are you drinking to get through dinnertime and naptime. Are you having a bottle afterwards to relax at the end of the day and do you need it to get through the day. Need is important. Need versus want. Exactly. The pressures of this mommy juice culture are very real. How do parents deal with it . You dont have to be a parent to get the running joke. The memes are endless. We see it all the time. You want to work on a positive relationship with yourself. Now, a lot of moms have told me they drink to fill a void or mask other emotions. Thats something they began to work through. Some with getting sobriety counselors and getting help so you also want to find an authentic friend group. If youre with a group and have to drink every time youre with them, you need a new mom squad. They should help you through whatever struggles youre working with. Avoid getting overwhelmed. Its easier said than done but you know, know your bandwidth. A lot of people feel like they have to have those pinterest perfect holidays or join every school community. Say no. They complained, t. J. , i just finished putting my makeup on. You got me crying and now i got to do my makeover again. You couldnt help but get emotional watching that story, but one viewer got inspired then got up and made the decision to save another life. Wow. Today is fabulous. Theyre such great friends. Reporter last fall, we introduced you to dave and nancy, neighbors and friends from ohio. Dave diagnosed with a serious Kidney Disease that required a transplant. Thats when he said we need to get you on dialysis and thats when its like, oh, man. Really didnt want to go there. He was definitely scared. I could tell by the look in his eyes. Reporter desperately searching for a donor, dave didnt realize one was pretty close by. Yes, his neighbor, nancy. She stepped up and went to get tested to sigh if she was a match. I jumped at the chance to do this. Not knowing that i was going to be a match. You think about being a match but youre thinking, how could i be a match . Reporter nancy ultimately revealed she was the donor right here on gma. Little did we know our story would inspire others to step up and one of those is jeannine russell. I watched the story and it definitely moved me. I was brought me to tears, us me tohink, well, if they can do it, why cant i do that . Why cant i make a difference . Reporter jeannine shared her feelings with her family and her daughter told her about a coworker in need of a transplant. I received a call from the doctor stating that i cant wait any more. I cant wait for a donor to step up. Reporter so jeannine didnt hesitate. She offered to become the lifeline to a woman she had never met. All i could think about is this is something that i think i can do, and its something that i want to do. Reporter the surgery was a success and two days after the procedure sone met her donor for the first time. Thank you so much. You saved my life. And i wouldnt be here had she not sacrificed that for me. She is heaven sent. Shes my angel. T. J. Took me in a place that i couldnt even imagine. I would never ever ever imagine that i could have done this and it empowered me to be able to do it. [ applause ] guys, in our careers weve done countless stories and come and go and we just told one guys story and now a humbling experience to think something we did here moved somebody to save another life. We talk about transplants and that organ transplant list. There are 110,000 to 115,000 waiting for a transplant. I just happened to be in our audience. Crystal is over here. And, crystal, she is wearing a shirt that says looking for mr. Right or left. How long have you been on the waiting list . Ive been on the list for three years. This is what happens. Crystal, thank you. She looks healthy. Shes doing okay today but we have 20 people die in this country every single year on that waiting list. So the need is so great. Living donors are important. Talk yo your doctor. There are health risks involved, but if you want to try to save a life, you can do it right now by going in. Its not just that card that says organ donor, but its something to consider because folks are waiting every single day for folks who never come sometimes. Thank you for telling the story. Congratulations on all that, but i want to know, are you getting any sleep . Im trying. Im trying to balance it all but its a work in progress. People have asked how are you balancing it . Im not. There have been days ive been in the corner crying and saying, im a bad mom. Wait a minute. What am i doing or in the studio and someone is talking about a show idea and all i can think about is that face. Baby moses. But the best of my experience come from people giving me advice. Other moms when i first had my baby, my friend lisa said, you know, the nurses will want to take him into the nursery because i had a csection. Youre going to want to keep him. Let them take him. Get the rest that you need so the first night i was like, no, this is my baby. The second night, i was like, bye, boo. Ill see you later. We got 18 years. And it was the best advice and that just came from my friend opening up saying, my mother advice to you is to let him go get that rest because you have to take care of yourself and those are the things were talking about on the show. The best of who we are we get from other people. Thats right. Moses is 5 months old now. Hes 4. Trying to age my baby . Trying to speed up that 18 years. Hes 4 months old. Youve been very open about fertility issues you had but had him at 48 years old so to me what is the Biggest Surprise about being a mom and what surprised you most about him . You hear parents say, i never knew i could love someone so much. You know, the other day he was crying, im like, whats wrong youre running around and all of a sudden just like when i was hes like, wink, smile. You got me man. Wrapped around your finger. Its also my mother was a single mom at 19, and immediately she rushed in on a plane. She came in from texas and as a woman who watch my mother care for my son and care for me, ive always shes always been my best friend but i didnt know i could love her so much as a woman. I started crying watching my mom hold my son. Her mom died when she was 10 and so now shes a grandmom and she can give all of that love and battle as a single mom, and for meha will cry these lashes off in front of yall right now. I can tell,im sure your show will reflect this. Looking it at the promos talked about what youve gone through in your life and some of the struggles and things you say youll embrace on the show. What can we expect . I want people to when they see the show to see themselves. Im a kid from texas who ended up walking past the today show saying i want to work there and that dream came true because of the love my family poured into me just like you. Even though youre this tall, strapping, wonderful guy now, we were not always the kid that people bet on. Most can identify with that. We want to take you on this journey and talk about it. Whatever it is, a relationship. We say the first thing someone will ask, who are you dating. I do you want to date . I got a cousin. Well talk about that. The highs and lows and what it means to date when you are 45 or be on tinder or facebook dating, whatever that story was. What do i do . I dont know. We want to talk to people and meet people where they are. I want to set a table and you can come to my table with any kind of chair you have. A high chair, barca lounger. Im from texas, a lawn chair. Whatever you got. I want you to feel included. In the end if we just talk to people and look them in the eye and take off our masks and let them take off theirs, we can talk about anything.
