We know of so many other broadway performance that have been parents and children working but we didnt know anyoe that identity together so i was actually very surprised that we were the first mother and daughter leading on broadway. Tamron how does it feel this to make this type of history, especially broadway history . Its thrilling. Tamron you got great jean jeans. Its incredibly exciting, to be of motherdaughter duo especially a black motherdaughter duo to be making this history, i think the first people to do it and also black women is important. Tamron celia made her professional debut, knowing it for so while i feel loneliness watching over lioness watching over her cub on her first solo hunt. So for the longest time i wanted to be a child psychologist because i am very fascinated with the idea of empathy and how empathy at an early age is incredibly important, so thats what i wanted to do and then i started following musical theater and things started to move towards a back burner and my mom being the protective, incredible mother she has wanted me to do something stable and this business isnt always as stable as one would wanted to be. Tamron it is not, let me tell you. She did grow up backstage, though. Tamron do you remember being backstage and seeing and hearing your mother perform . The majority of my childhood memories take place and green rooms. I would hear people, why are they screaming at my mother. Tamron i was talking to will be cold there, she was staying with her daughter it was always a struggle to make sure people didnt push her child out of the way, juggling being a famous mom with a daughter, you are also sharing your love with your fans and there is a balan balance. The broadway at family that loves you is getting there. Basically being a working mom mom, it was very important to me took time out to the mommy and children time, i have two daughters and even if i had would make spaghetti at breakfast time so they would have a home cooked meal when it came time for dinner. My mom is a superhero. I say that all the time. I dont know how. She raised two daughters on her own and two cats, two wonderful cats. And she was present as often as she could be. She was more present in me and my sisters life and a lot of parents who do not work as hard as she was. Tamron your mom won out tony for the color purple and you didnt know what i tony was. She was just mom to you. She will always be mom. She will always be a cool, awesome, awesomely famous mom. Tamron with a tony. And anatomy. Tamron dont let them forget that. When you watch the celia perform, jagged little pill, i dont even have a ticket, thats how hot it is. You want your child perform in this musical, do you give her feedback . Theres always a balance of tough love. Remember they said, Michael Jordan used to beat his sons at pickup basketball game so h because he wanted them to know that you have two work hard to be Michael Jordan. She calls me a sniper mom. Not a helicopter mom, a sniper mom. Far away. Back in a corner. Someone starts to mess with my daughter, take them right out. I try to talk to her about vocal preparation, warming up, i just introduced her to a local therapist, there is something called vocal therapy which i am a huge supporter of and i sent her to my doctor and and a provides vocal therapy so i try to work with her on that but to be clear, she definitely has her own performer. I like to think because ive been in the business forever and i know what to do, she has to follow my own way but shes definitely carving out her own way. Tamron you said you would support jagged little pill even if you werent in it because of the message of empowerment. For my character, telling her own story and figuring out her own life its so important to see black women take control of their lives on stage and not sort of just upon in the chess game for a person who is not black. Its about time we are telling our own stories for the sake of our stories to be heard so i would support this no matter what because it is so important to see people who look like me and have hair like mine and speak the way i do to be centers of a story, not just because they are black but they happen to be the center and happen to be black and happen to be queer and to be socially aware and politically correct. Tamron i love all of this wokeness and i love it because you still live at home. I mean, that is spectacular. Independent, strong, listen, mom, this is what were doing, its 2019, 2020. Well, first, thank you again because since that day life has changed completely. Between balancing working full time and getting the brand off the ground, being connected with an icon like Andre Leon Talley has been lifechanging. The little time i was in new york, right after we found i was walking down the street and people were literally coming up to me like didnt i just see you . You were a guy with the turtleneck come you to the white dress. Well im having lunch. So its just been great, its been great. Tamron with all the designers, you were doing this in many cases parttime because you still have to pay her bills and do your other job while youre doing this. The impact andres advice what did it have on you in the sense that it helped you go to the next level or think in a new direction . Absolutely. What i liked the most about it iss advice was it wasnt generic, it wasnt typical just chase your dreams and keep going. Although thats important. It was very realistic, what to expect, this is not going to be an overnight story about at the same time it was very uplifting, very validating as well especially to get that coming from an icon like andre, someone who i grew up reading his articles, looking at his documentaries and to be sitting down having dinner with him and him telling me, you could be next, that was beyond reassuring and validating considering every thing i went there to get here. Tamron absolutely. In the spirit of what we did with that, the hamilton play im not giving away my shot. Andre made some calls because he knows everybody and as i understand there was a call made that helped you with a big opportunity, what is it . So i have been i just came back from Beverly Hills, my first time over there. Andre reached out to a good friend of his end and a renowned Shopping Center and he was hosting a release party for leslie odom jr. , one of the leads in hamilton. He said, why dont over and host a trunk show . Coming from sketching in my dorm room and coming to Beverly Hills and seeing people in the store window, people of caliber trying to fight it on, fighting over jackets, that was amazing would be an understatement. The whole situation has just been beautiful. [applause] tamron well, we could not be more proud of you and happy for you. I hope you did not sell my white scuba dress, im still waiting on it. Now to a holiday alert about what you buy on amazon. Nearly half of the listings on the site are sold by thirdparty sellers. According to the wall street journal some of them sell those items and are pulling them straight from the trash. Abcs Rebecca Jarvis has the details. Reporter a Holiday Shopping warning. The wall street journal reporting that some thirdparty sellers on amazon may be selling actual garbage. Just about anyone can create a storefront on amazon. Reporter why are amazon users being fooled into buying trash . According to the wall street journal, buyers believe if it comes in an amazon box or has an amazon label, it is in fact sold by amazon. But that isnt the case. Many thirdparty sellers send their items to Fulfillment Centers across the country to then be sent by the Online Retail giant. Rachel johnson greer, a former manager of an amazon fulfillment center, knows the ins and outs and says its not hard to be fooled. Anything that was inside the Fulfillment Centers would get the prime badge, because it could be delivered at that speed. People started equating the prime badge with amazon. Reporter there are millions of brandnew items sold on amazon, but there are some labeled new that are secondhand. The journal put the idea to the test. We retrieved items from store dumpsters, created an amazon storefront, listed those items on amazon. Reporter the wall street journal purchased their own items before anyone else could. According to heather hoops, not everyone sells trash. Oh, this is a good one, 50 off. Buy a toy after christmas for 5, flip it online for 20. Amazon, essentially a flea market for online shopping. You dont necessarily know where the items are coming from. Reporter in response to the wall street journal report, amazon updated their policy to ban selling items from the trash and closed the journals thirdparty store for violations of their seller policies and seller code of conduct. Amazon telling abc news, sellers are responsible for meeting amazons high bar for product quality. There are isolated incidents that do not reflect the highquality Customer Experience provided by the millions of Small Businesses selling in our store every day. Keep the themes going. I like to set out a lot of appetizers for people coming in and out. These are deviled eggs. Theyre actually ready for the holidays. I dyed the whites green, red, and actually blue and white as well. So its real easy to do, just a little bit of water, food coloring, and vinegar. Its a beautiful crabfilled deviled egg, its delicious. So the ingredients in there again are . To make the coloring . So in the filling as well . The filling has a little crab, traditional a little bit of mayonnaise, a little bit of the egg that you put in there, a little bit of paprika on top. The crab is the star of this one.
