Well, as the federal government prepares to launch a relief package to help Small Businesses survive the coronavirus pandemic, some celebrities and Restaurant Owners are already pitching in. In the Restaurant Industry alone, 5 million to 7 million jobs may be eliminated as a result of the covid19 pandemic, and businesses could lose 225 billion. Our business and our industry essentially just went off the cliff, and i dont think its going to be as simple as turning the lights back on. Were being hit the hardest here, and the nature of our business has fundamentally changed and will be for a year to a year and a half. Reporter some restaurants trying to survive on just takeout and delivery orders until they can reopen, but many owners forced to close up shop. Celebrity chef and food advocate Tom Colicchio was one of many restaurateurs who made the difficult decision to lay off more than 400 employees.
