Thank you so much for joining us. We just saw yet another record in number of daily covid cases nationwide, hospitals in at least nine states are now dealing with staffing shortages. What are the biggest concerns now and what should we be doing . I have multiple concerns. You kind of hit it on the head when you talked about the fact that were seeing a Record Number of hospitalizations and cases. Were breaking records from april, which we didnt think we would be in a place like this come seven months hater. Im also worried theres a sense of quarantine fatigue. People think its over when its really not. If you look at where outbreaks are happening in the dakotas, michigan, el paso, some states out west, its kind of spreading throughout the country and its hard to mobilize workforces to go to certain places. Theres a new study catching people who are asymptomatic. What do we need to know . Temperature checks, system checks are just one part of stopping the person to person spread. Temperature checks have to be used in conjunction with widespread testing, wearing masks. So when people think about traveling for thanksgiving or the holidays, you cant just use symptoms to say youre safe or not. You have to talk about community transmission, about quarantining in place and getting tested. Were learning more about the longterm effects of covid19. About 20 of those covid19 cases had other Mental Health diagnosis with them. Researches arent sure if its because of the virus direct effect on the body or if its because of what happens when youre diagnosed because of all the unknowns. People with psychiatric conditions were also at increased risk of catching covid19. I think the overall message is that this just might have to change what we think about when it comes to screening, Risk Assessment and more resources going towards Mental Health and awareness.
