The judge calling tarrio, quote, the ultimate leader of the conspiracy. The night before the attack, seen on video in an Underground Parking Garage in washington, d. C. Meeting with members of the oath keepers, including its leader, Stewart Rhodes, who is now serving 18 years in prison. Prosecutors say it was members of the proud boys who first broke through the metal gates around the capitol and that tarrio was watching, posting messages on social media. Tarrio sentenced to more than two decades in prison, 22 years, the longest imposed thus far in connection with january 6th. Tarrio pleaded for leniency, calling january 6th a national embarrassment, saying, i will have to live with that shame and disappointment for the rest of my life. But judge timothy j. Kelly calling tarrio the ultimate leader of that conspiracy and saying that he has shown no remorse. The sentencing coming after more than three hours of a dramatic hearing in a packed courtroom. Prosecutors describing tarrio as a political terrorist who sought to use force to block the peaceful transfer of power. Tarrio was not present on january 6th after he was arrested and ordered to leave washington, d. C. , but prosecutors said he still played a key role in the planning and orchestration of the attack. Tonight, the search area has now expanded. In fact, schools in two districts had to close today. And overheard from a helicopter today, a message from the suspects mother urging him to surrender. Reporter tonight, eerie new Trail Camera Images of escaped murderer Danelo Cavalcante as Authorities Say overnight he slipped past their Search Perimeter for the first time. The photos confirm that cavalcante has not changed his appearance but also that he has obtained a backpack, a duffel slingtype pack, and a hooded sweatshirt. Reporter Law Enforcement now shifting their search zone south, still confident the 34yearold is lurking in the woods close to the prison, about 30 miles west of philadelphia. We realized within just a few hours where he was, and so, hes not had a tremendous amount of time to move a long distance. Reporter cavalcante is sentenced to life in prison for killing his exgirlfriend in front of her two small children, and hes considered extremely dangerous. Overnight, two nearby School Districts closing. Everybody is, like, a little bit nervous, i guess, for the because of the murderer. There is definitely people who are closer to that area that are very nervous and terrified. Reporter and tonight, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports a source inside the prison told them how cavalcante escaped thursday, explaining he climbed onto the roof from one of the facilitys exercise yards, then ran across the roof and dropped down to a less secure area, fleeing the Prison Grounds from there. And the source says this was nearly identical to how a previous prisoner escaped only months ago. State police and the District Attorneys Office declined to comment, and the prison did not return our request for comment. An investigation into the escape is ongoing. Hes a bad guy. He needs to be in custody. And were determined to capture him. Reporter and david, some parts of this area are so densely wooded that authorities have to search within a few yards of each other.
