Kids who have lost a parent learn to share their emotions at grieving camp

Grieving is difficult, but throw in being a child and losing your parent during a pandemic and it becomes even harder.
On Saturday, Hospice & HomeCare of Reno County, an entity of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, is hosting the organization's annual Space to Grieve Kids Kamp.
More than 30 youngsters from Reno and neighboring counties will be able to speak to others with similar losses from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson.
“Grieving the death of a loved one is never easy,” said Sheila Dunlavy, a social worker at Hospice & HomeCare of Reno County. “It can be a challenge for parents and caregivers to know what to do when a child experiences the death of someone of importance in their life.”
