KOLKATA: The Calcutta high court has ordered DNA matching of samples taken from slain BJP trade union leader Abhijit Sarkar and his brother after the latter was unable to “identify” his sibling’s body following a second autopsy more than two months after the killing. Abhijit was killed on May 2 as a wave of post-poll violence lashed Bengal. A five-judge bench ordered DNA testing after additional solicitor general Y J Dastoor submitted that Abhijit’s brother, Biswajit Sarkar, had “expressed his inability to identify the body on account of its bad condition” after the second autopsy. The same bench had ordered the repeat autopsy on July 2 after Abhijit’s family questioned the findings of the first one.
