Kirsten Deshler Appointed as New UCSB Representative on I.V.

UC Santa Barbara has appointed Kirsten Deshler, the university’s governmental relations director, to be its representative to the Isla Vista Community Services District following the resignation of former representative George Thurlow last December. 
Deshler, who was appointed to the position by UCSB Chancellor Henry T. Yang, was sworn in at the Isla Vista Community Services District’s (I.V. CSD) Jan. 12 meeting. 
Deshler declined to speak with the Nexus about her appointment to the I.V. CSD — deferring to UCSB spokesperson Andrea Estrada — but offered the following statement: “I am looking forward to working on the Board on important issues facing the Isla Vista community.”
