Well, shes not an old friend. Shes a young friend but weve been friends for a a long time. Heres kate hudson jimmy kate hudson, thank you so much for doing our show i appreciate it. Its so good to see you im good, im good hanging in there like everybody jimmy yeah, us too did you do that i did some interview recently, a podcast for almost famous. Oh, yeah. Did you do it . Jimmy i did it, yeah, yeah, yeah wasnt that wild to go back jimmy it was 20 years ago. 20 years ago. There were so many things that i had forgot about that i remembered while we were doing the interview. And is it was just like i had such a it was such a beautiful walk down that time jimmy yeah in our lives. I mean, what a special experience for everybody that was. Like i think i think we all had jimmy yeah, i think we all had the best time. And then there were like relationships that came out of it oh, which by the way, we need to discuss jimmy wait, wait first of all lets we have some things to discuss. Which i was like ill get to that in a second but i was like going through all the memories and i was like, oh, my god. [ laughter ] i was like oh, my god this was like this most magical moment. But do you remember how much fun we all had jimmy i mean dude, some of the best laughs i ever had in my entire lifetime was from that movie oh, my god. I mean, we and then you and i ended up hanging out all the time and when you were doing your show and you literally jimmy did you see it yes are you kidding . I had like 100 people send me that clip. Jimmy one, two, three. Kate hudson. [ laughter ] and you have to say the question and you have to tell me please explain this. [ laughter ] well, its not even a big deal all right. Ugh. We did we hung out all the time jimmy if you would have actually made a move, i would have totally got i would have totally gone there jimmy no, you wouldnt have yes of course. I remember thinking to myself, like why has jimmy never made like a move . And then i just kind of realized like, oh, well, hes not into me like that. So i just jimmy what you know . Yeah i was just like, okay, well, whatever. You know and so then i met chris. Jimmy no thats not the story at all oh, my gosh. No, it is because i was a a single girl and i was in new york and you know, life was what it was. Like if you know, if would have been like hey, like you know, who knows . Who knows . Our whole life projectory could have been different, jimmy jimmy everything turned out perfect. Exactly the way it was supposed to. Jimmy yeah, but i remember we went to see kids in the hall. Remember oh, yeah. Jimmy and so we saw kids in the hall. And then you and chris started talking. You were like, dude, thats Chris Robinson from black crowes. I go, i know. But you met him there and thats when right, you guys started talking there. Yeah. Jimmy and then the next day did we go ice skating i dont know if that was the next day but maybe. Jimmy i want to say we went ice skating. Then after we went ice skating you go, hey, what are you doing later . And you go, im going to go meet Chris Robinson. I go, really . You go, yeah. I go, huh thats cool. And you go, do you have any black crowes cds . I go, of course yeah, theyre like one of my favorite bands. So i give you like three of my cds. And then the rest is history you guys fell in love. The rest is history now ive got a 16yearold [ light laughter ] you know what i remember i remember one of the great times ever we were in my moms apartment, and i forget we came back from some we were you know, we were always at some bar [ light laughter ] and we listened i had i dont know if it was you or me but it was at my place so i think it was me. I had a hairband cd. And it jimmy oh yeah. 80s, like great 80s jimmy oh like poison yeah, and we we we we sang and must have been like three in the morning. And at one point we were on the floor creating like shapes [ light laughter ] so like jimmy what do you mean i have no game we were like doing weird [ light laughter ] jimmy thats my move thats how i thats how let girls know that i want to date oh thats what it was jimmy making shapes on the floor. I saw by the way, the cover of people magazine, the beautiful issue, was you just you alone i go, oh, its fantastic. Its perfect. But then, little baby. But then also your mom mama. And i thought id highlight that i think its important to highlight i mean, the way i look at charity as a whole is Like Community and global. You know jimmy yeah and i think its important to do both especially now, because this is like whats affecting us globally, is when we say we are all in this together, like whats happening outside of our country will directly affect us especially hunger and the economy. So anyway, the World Food Programme, they i mean, last year, in 2019, were feeding up to 100 million people. Jimmy wow. Yeah. Jimmy this is even before the pandemic obviously oh, yeah, no, its a real i mean, look, hunger is a huge crisis and it gets worse and worse. Its its usually the root causes are usually, you know, manmade. The manmade conflicts or its the environment or its economic downturns right . So the World Food Programme is a u. N. Its a u. N. Organization and theyre the leading in dealing with world hunger chrissies. So after covid19 were looking at about a quarter of a billion people worldwide so its an actual like of true famine proportions, like biblical proportions jimmy ugh. And this will be caused by economy, the economic downturn so you know, after we are able to do that then you know, you get into the economic downfalls and then with that the hunger is just its devastating. So i fell in love with the organization years ago and ive been working with them and doing some field work with them so i just thought id bring a more global voice to whats happening jimmy yeah, its good because it is you can just talk about local food banks and all that stuff but then to go its everyones affected by this.
