Reporter now sheriff giordano here says part of the reason he released this body camera video was because people keep asking why evacuation orders have not been lifted yet. He says until the winds calm down. Until these fires are better contained he doesnt want to risk anyone going through what his deputies went through saturday night. Right in the Jackson Family vineyards if you take a look behind me you can see flames just beyond where were standing. The winds have just picked up within the last five or 10 minutes and thats when we started to see these flames pick up as well. That is what calfire is worried about. This fire right now 11,000 acres and only 5 contained. If the winds continue to blow strong tonight, that could push this fire straight down into hieldsburg. This is why this is an incredibly dangerous situation and its also their top priority. An orange glow floods the hills above geyserville as the pocket fire continues its relentless march toward town. Heavy chinook hospitals doused the flames with two to 3,000 gallons of water per drop. The aircraft is a vital tool. Inaccessible tools. Thats why right now the bulldozers that were up in the hills right near the pocket fire have actually been sent across to the other size of geyser road. Calfire wants them to start cutting lines just in case this fire does jump the lines that they cut earlier tonight. They want another set of fire lines to protect and prepare the city of hieldsburg, with the winds starting to pick up thats exactly where this fire is heading. A heartbreaking search is under way for those who may not make it out before the fire swept through. Dal lin was at the scene with firefighters. Reporter firefighters are going to addresses of missing people. Earlier today they found some bone fragments. Search and rescue crews found the remains on a bed. They presume that the person was asleep or resting. Searchers were specifically checking two known addresses of two missing people. Theyre still going through the home of the second person. Our high probability area will be the bedroom. If we can identify the bedrooms first we will search those bedrooms and we will work our way toward the house. Reporter crews went through every part of the targeted homes even lifting up collapsed roofs. Cadaver dogs then went through the debris to sniff for human remains. Hundreds of people lived at this mobile home park. Many were seniors living by themselves. We only have two deaths here well be very fortunate and very thankful. Reporter these folks lived at this house at one point before it burned down. Theyre helping guiding the firefighters through the search right now. Once these search and rescue folks have gone through these known address, theyll go back to these communities to do a full sweep. In santa rosa, im da lin, kpix5. We are back live in santa rosa and in just the past hour the Sonoma County sheriff has issued an evacuation advisory for part of sonoma valley. This is for the east side of seventh street east. Its between east napa and east mcarthur streets. This is not a mandatory evacuation. People are urged though to voluntarily evacuate. In the meantime, we have a little bit of bad news tonight. Some evacuees were allowed to return home. Mandatory evacuation orders were lifted in parts of North Western santa rosa. One man showed us his home was untouched. His neighbors yard was torched. We also caught sight of pg e crews working tonight. Theyre working very hard but theres still more than 23,000 people without electricity in napa and sonoma counties. But 91 of customers have now had their power restored. And as investigators try to zero in on the cause of this fire. They are taking a close look at pg e and the power lines. Kpix5s kristin ahres has been looking at that part of the story for us. Reporter tonight 20 investigators are trying to figure out how these fires started and at least some of the questions are centered around pg e. Reporter tonight pg e crews are doing the slow but steady work of restoring powers to wine country. In Sonoma County alone we had 20 cause and origin investigators. Tonight the death toll from the fires in mendecino county is up to eight individuals and authorities expect that to climb. Right now Law Enforcement is getting help from the National Guard and from agencies outside the area to monitor the evacuation zones. They want to make sure that evacuated areas are clear of looters and make sure that people stay safe.
