Incident marks a fierce escalation in the violence thats rocked the city since june with protests being held with even more frequency and force. A fire has been set here. Riot police are pushing past, trying to flush protesters out. Their routine is well established. The demonstrators are pushed back, first by tear gas and water cannons, and now, it seems, by bullets. There were cheers and gasped in a dallas courtroom after the jury returned a guilty verdict in a Police Killing that has caught the attention of the nation. Amber geyger was convicted of murder in the death of botham jean. He was unarmed in his own apartment when geyger walked in, pulled her service revolver, and shot him dead. Geyger claimed she thought she was in her apartment and he was an intruder. The jury didnt buy it. Omar villafranca reports. We, the jury, unanimously find the defendant, amber guyger, guilty of murder as charged in the indictment. Reporter you could hear the gasps and sobs from the gallery. The jury to find amber guyger guilty of fatally shooting her neighbor, 26yearold botham jean, in his apartment. Guyger thought it was her own. Secretary of state mike pompeo is now part of the investigation. Turns out, he was on the phone line when President Trump asked the president of ukraine to, quote, do us a favor. That makes pompeo himself a witness. Five current and former state Department Officials have already received subpoenas. President trump tweeted that one of the democratic congressmen leading the investigation should be arrested and claims he has the right to interview the whistleblower.
