Oakland Police Arrested the victims boyfriend as the suspect in this murder case but later released him citing not enough evidence to go to trial. New data shows latinos account for 63 of covid19 cases in the 18 to 34 age group while representing 45 of the population. That population isnt usually qualified for health care. The other risk factors is theyre essential workers. We cant stay at home and they dont want to go to the hospital unless they have to. Everyday theyre not working theyre not bringing in income. A screening project in coordination with ucsf testing 3,000 residents in the mission last month showed 90 who tested positive reported not being able to work from home. During this time when people were able to work from home. They had positions in essential services where they had to continue to go to work. In the 35 to 49 age group, latinos represent 74 of deaths. Accounting for 41 of the the population. In the 50 to 64 age group, its 54 and 64 respective hi. They dont have access to health care. They dont have full benefited positions. And for other documentation reasons theyre not able to Access Health care. Its selfpay or they never had primary care before. Now the numbers are not as disproportionate for the older latino population. But in the age category of 0 to 17 the numbers are striking.
