They risk losing state funds if they fail to enforce elth orders this Holiday Weekend. And more developing news, this time out of san quentin, another condemned inmate has died of covid19. Dwayne Michael Carrie has been on death row since 1996. He died today at a death row hospital. At least 13 other have died since june 24th. More than 1,300 prisoners and 120 Staff Members have contracted the virus. Most of them within the past two weeks alone. Its a lot of people together. Theyre not all masked. The windows are closed. The facilities are not open. And theres a lot of shouting and screaming. Which allows the droplets that the virus travels on to travel further. The prison was built in 1852, the oldest prison in the state. And its got opengrilled cells, barred cell, not closed doors. The outbreak is believe to have started after a transfer of prisoners from a Southern California correctional facility. Marin just added to the governors covid19 watch list. Due to a sharp increase in case counts and hospital zags. Despite that, the county is one of the few to have its beaches open this weekend. Reporter Stinson Beach was expected to be jampacked today. There are a lot of people but it main be the problem it looks like at first glance. Stinson beach is federal property, so the parking lot stayed open. And gi fwantic crowds of people showed up. A hundredacre fire in the hills is 30 contained at this hour. It is not threatening any buildings. But people visiting nearby parks have been told to leave. A much smaller fire near santa rosa was quickly brought under control. No word on what sparked any of those fires. San francisco firefighters know what started that one.
