Now at 11 00, break news. Less than an hour ago, we learned that President Trump has tested positive for for coronavirus. Biden could be at risk as well. Lets get right to that bombshell from washington right now. The president announcing both testing positive for coronavirus tonight. This news coming hours after we learned one of the president s top aides who flew with him on air force 1 yesterday tested positive. Cbs news reporter, nancy chen, has the latebreaking teetheses from washington. Reporter one of President Trumps closest aides, hope hicks, has tested positive for the coronavirus. Late thursday the president tweeted that he and the first lady tested positive for the virus. What are some of the risk factors for the president s age . Hes 74. And frankly, his physical condition, his weight. Well, combining the weight and the age factors puts him at, you know, eight to ten times higher risk for hospitalization than someone between 18 and 30 years of age. And certainly hospitalizations also can put a person at higher risk for death in that age group as well. And we know that about anxiety of people with infections, in hospitalizations, actually, are over 65. And hes certainly well over that age. And he was just at the debate two days ago. It depends on how close certainly for more than 15 minutes. And closer to 60. There could be risk for infection and certainly senator biden would have to really watch himself for symptoms and probably be tested in the next few days. No question. And im think of all the people that were on air force 1, including the press and all of his advisors. What type of risk are they and they were all on a plane together. It depends on how well they practice these cdc guidelines that they said they did. So if everybody was distanced at least six feet apart and wearing masks, the airplane has the normal efficiency of most jets. And those are pretty good. So the air is circuitulated pretty well and cleared pretty cleanly. So the issue really has to do with masking and distancing. In any event, i would still consider them at risk. And because of the closed borders and the duration of time. So they would probably, given the severity of this issue, and the fact that these are highlevel officials, that they would probably need to be monitored and potentially tested soon. We frequently assume President Trump at these Different Campaign evens not wearing masks, even. Joe biden jibing about always wearing a mask. What is the president s prognosis right now . His wife tweeted they were feeling fine. If you would be getting very ill, would he be already starting to show symptoms given the fact that he did test positive . Its really hard to know when he became infected. Generally people are about 80 of people have mild symptoms or no symptoms at all. So really its that 20 of people who will get hospitalized, sick enough to be hospitalized. But among those 20 , the majority will be over 60. Or 65. So hes definitely that this group. The one in five risk. And if he was infected in the last few days, it may take anywhere from two days or longer to develop symptoms. All right. Doctor, thank you so much for joining us tonight. I think that thats really amazing to see that people like me can own a home here. Reporter richmond currently has 240 abandoned properties just like this. What usually happens is the original Property Owner passes away and doesnt leave the home to anyone. Investors dont want to buy these homes because the cost of the environmental cleanup, plus the unpaid property taxes, are worth more than the value of the home.
