If you plan to watch the iconic thanksgiving day parade here in new york city, it is going to look a bit different. You guessed it thanks to the pandemic. In fact, it is only about a block long, starting and ending right here in front of macys. The balloons, though, they will still fly as organizers hope people stay home and enjoy the parade from the comfort of their living rooms. Specially rigged vehicles will guide the balloons along select streets, replacing the hundreds of handlers who usually lead them along the route through manhattan. Also replaced, School Marching Bands from around the country. Instead, local groups will perform. And for all those high school and College Marching Bands missing out on the parade, of course this is a huge letdown. But they have been invited to perform next year.
