Area. The seas eu complex fires are burning in the mountains of san mateo and santa cruz county. The s e u complex fires or in contra costa alameda and santa clara counties, the l a new complex fire exploded overnight, taking a destructive turn into the north bay. Now that destructive trend persists right now a fire in the l a new complex fire has now forced the california Highway Patrol to shut down interstate 80 as the fire has jumped the freeway. These are pictures now from a helicopter from kcra where we can see how chp has shut down the road, the conditions are terrible with all the smoke thats in the air. Now the part of 80 that is shutdown is between air base parkway and cherry road in fairfield again the pictures that were looking at is in the area of interstate 80 that is shut down right now. This is where the hennessy fire has been burning there is an Evacuation Order in place right now for the Rolling Hills neighborhood Fairfield Police are saying if you live in this area try to evacuate immediately but keep in mind that 80 is shut down. So try to find an alternate route now Vacaville Police have not just put out. This map. The areas in yellow are the evacuation areas. This is map coming to us right now from the Vacaville Police department. Its the area of south of alamo from 80 to the put a creek can now thats the s and the canal near marana evacuation areas are in the yellow believe it hears you can look at it just for a little bit longer so you can tell the Evacuation Order that has been put out. Now crews are working right now to protect homes from burning from the fastmoving flames. This video of firefighters trying to save a home was on rim rock drive in napa im at the southern tip of Lake Berryessa that home there. Engulfed in flames, smart smoke pouring into the sky fire crews tried to do as much as they can. We dont have a lot of information about this home the address right now but kron fours michelle kingston is on her way to the scene and she will bring us the very latest as soon as shes able to give us a live report safely. But our cover can coverage continues right now with our chief meteorologist Lawrence Karnow hes been tracking these fire conditions. The strong wind gusts has also helped to push the flames across 80 plus the air quality is just terrible across most of the day everyones talking about they can see and smell it warrants what is the very latest yeah just seen these fires really breaking out at the worst time of day this is where were start going to start to see the stronger sea breezes kick in the calm down a little bit overnight. And then started to pick up again through the day and here you go this where the complex fires began and spreading all the way across the atlas peak now some those winds to 17 Miles Per Hour pushing those winds more of a westerly component so that took it right toward vacaville and fairfield in that direction and the winds in those ers not terrible but again theyre going to see those winds picking up here over the next couple of hours here the winds really going really kick up probably maybe 20 maybe is a 30 mile an hour gusts in and around some of these mountainous areas so certainly going to see that when that sea breeze continuing of course little more moisture in the atmosphere but probably doesnt matter the wind is going to be the overriding factor now in and around vacaville and fairfield the winds are not too terrible. Theyre kind of swirling around right now, but generally get the sea breeze blowing right through the delta area and that will pick up in the next coming like a funnel is a goes right through the mountain ranges that air squashed between the mountain so it starts to pick up speed that could easily see some 20 maybe some 30 mile an hour gusts in that area of course with that fire just at those areas now very dangerous fire conditions if you live in those areas you want to get out the fire. Were tracking is along the coastline. This east of a pass to darrell into their ballpark there you see the winds in and around that area and the boy its blown again those winds picking up and thats been the danger High Pressure is breaking down that sea breeze is picking up and that is going to spread those fires and more that smoke around the bay area will have air quality conditions coming up just in just a little bit thank you so much lawrence now the l a new lightning fires burned more than 46,000 acres overnight destroying at least 50 structures. And threatening dozens more there is 0 containment and cal fire has hundreds of personnel on the scene trying to protect as many homes as possible from burning mandatory Evacuation Orders have been issued for several neighborhoods. Well go over some of that information includes rockville road sassoon valley road Gordon Valley road would in valley road clayton road men cast corner shelton lane northwest Browns Valley road west of blue ridge road to 5 05 and north of cherry glen road to highway one 28 all that their list on your screen thats in Solano County this is from the l a new lightning complex fires. Thats the Evacuation Orders that we have right now. Now joining us on the phone right now to talk more about the situation there in vacaville is the fire chief chris conception, thank you so much for joining us here tonight. I can hear you can you hear me. Yes i can hear you ok chief thank you so much for joining us what can you tell us about the latest about the firefight in vacaville thats happening right now. Now i heard you announced that john the fire has jumped 80. Right around the cherry therefore weve got units on there trying to fight that fire and then we have some new additional evacuations that id like to report, yes lets do it on and so we just made the decision to evacuate the. Their from i 80 so east of 80. South of alamo drive. All the way if you turn now. The city border. And how many homes or people does that can consist of. Its probably going to be about another 1000 homes despite the estimate. And how should people evacuate if 80 is closed like what what can people do to get out of the area safely with that major route one well, so the Evacuation Centers that have or will he work on the side of the freeway up. You can not that they can go thats probably the closest i back you wish thats all on peabody road. Also we have 3 in the city, so it is that are open and we have the last Community Center. As well as well as the right Senior Center and then the state or the skate center on the street. Back to residents that are being evacuated can go to any one of those forced Evacuations Centers so the fire behavior has been extreme which is why has jumped 80. What is happening right now to try to. Tame the why a good number charges resources everywhere. But our priority is to to get to work doing a coordinated effort as far as the evacuation. And then or firefighters or arent sure prepping the homes to make sure to send hires did not extend jones and what is the devastation like that youve seen so yet that as you mentioned the fire behavior has changed their attic, its an it all the different factors as far as that we know that the High Temperature that most of it and how to win and im just make order attic fire behavior so on our firefighters been out there. For over 24 hours down and down. And there are continuing to work tirelessly. And we appreciate their efforts and since this fire has now jumped 80 causing more evacuations for about 1000 more people in your community we are thinking of you thank you so much for your time we know its precious right ok thank you. So our coverage will continue now we want to go to kron fours Charles Clifford he is live now in Solano County where the fire continues to burn out of control right near vacaville, dozens of homes and buildings have been lost there overnight chuck whats the latest where you are. So right now im standing along back in valley road this is to the north a vacaville and right behind me you can kind of see this line of smoke behind the trees there this is one of the fronts on the hennessy fire. Still very active flames out here this is a big fire zone of this is the same fire thats currently impacting 80. So it spreads for miles through here. This fire yesterday was not nearly this begun was over napa county overnight it spread fast very fast through the hills and into this valley and earlier today i drove along Pleasant Valley road and look at some of the damage and its pretty stunning. Wednesday afternoon homes continue to burn along Pleasant Valley road north of back a bill this house caught fire after embers landed on the roof within minutes, it was gone. Further down the road dozens more homes and buildings lay in ruins miles of fence line or destroyed and power poles lay smoldering in the roadway. The hennessy fire swept through this area early wednesday morning. Many neighbors went to bed on tuesday evening believing the flames were miles away in another county. This man was will govern by police banging on his door just after 01 00am and i thought the fire a still pretty far away and it came through yourself after going to the fact that came through. And we laughed and we got out about 25 minutes and before they may be involved in something that just barely got out to barely got out theres also a massive effort underway to rescue the many animals left behind during the evacuation lot of people really desperate to get their animals out. We have evacuated dozens of all different types of species from small to large. Unfortunately at the moment there is a noticeable lack of firefighters here with dozens of fires burning across california cal fire says their resources are spread thin. Wednesday afternoon only one helicopter could be seen over this massive fire. Crews from neighboring communities are arriving to help out. But the fire continues to burn out of control. All right back live now the plan heading into the evening for the fire crews that are here is theyre going to work on protecting homes, there is some concern that the winds could shift at some point this afternoon this evening and that could push the fire back towards homes on Pleasant Valleys. Road that were spared the first time around so that is their main concern right now, but but for now in Solano CountyCharles Clifford kron 4 news thank you so much child safe safe ok now we want to go now to kron fours a photographer sean copeland, he is on 80 in fairfield which we have learned has now shut down.
