Down the shore, it is 47 in wildwood, right around 49 degrees, in atlantic particular city. Dew points are in the 30s and 40s, so thats making for these very crisp and comfortable mornings, and also , very comfortable afternoons, dry conditions, out there, and it will be changing though as we head into the upcoming week, storm scan3, shows, that it is completely quiet out there. Reporter good morning, jan , this is live look at westbound vine expressway, ramp to schuylkill expressway. This was the scene after accident a little bit ago. As you can see, that incident has since cleared. The driving conditions in this area have improved. Drive times in this area are looking great right now. Eastbound from the schuylkill expressway to 95, youre looking at roughly a two minute drive. Westbound, youre also looking at two minute drive. Though westbound i76 near 30th y going on at the moment. That will change around 9 00 this morning until about 3 00 p. M. This afternoon. The off ramp to 30th street will be closed for a bridge inspection. And i would plan ahead and add few extra minute to your commute to get around this future problem area. And other than the bridge inspection beginning later this morning, things are not looking too bad in the philadelphia area right now. Driving conditions on the major roadways are looking great this saturday morning. I76, 276, 476, the vine, 95, and i295 in new jersey, and driving speeds, are in the green and good. Jill, looking good, thank you very much. Well, police do believe theyve nabbed the suspect behind five armed robberies in philadelphias fairmount section. Eyewitness News Reporter Natasha Brown brings us to up date. The terror behind the the walls Haunted House at eastern state penetentary scares up crowds of thousands every year but this year regular dents have real fears after string of armed robberies. It was surprising, and very different from what happens in this neighborhood usually. Resident worried after four incident took place just this week. Two armed robberies, on sunday night, the first at 8 00 p. M. , in the 2200 block of brown street. Another, about an hour later, nearby, on the 2500 block of poplar street. It is concerning. Im out at that hour, and my husband has two other armed robberies reported after midnight tuesday, the gun wielding suspect, targeting victims, in the 800 block of 25th and 27th. Czar ya has lived in fairmount for years, she believes the influx every people during halloween leads to an up tick in crime. My dad has had his car stolen twice within two, three years of the, and always when halloween stuff is on. Youre afraid of, well, so much stuff going on for nothing, i mean, the shootings , the robberies, stuff like that and all. Weve been lucky around here that it hasnt been worse as some other neighborhoods. Police have arrested a suspect that is linked to another Armed Robbery here in the fairmount area, at this point, they do believe this one suspect they have in custody may very well be linked to all of these cases. In fairmount, Natasha Brown, cbs3, Eyewitness News. A motorcycle crash on southbound i95 in south philadelphia leads one person injured. That crash happened just past walt whitman bridge exit around midnight. The driver was returned to hahnemann hospital. No word on his condition this morning. Traffic was backed up for a bit, as authority cleared the scene there. Were told no other vehicles were involved. No word yet on what caused that crash. Authorities in philadelphia say theyve busted an illegal street gambling ring that generated millions of dollars in elicit profit. Nine members of that ring are now facing charges in a case that investigators are calling a true family affair. Eyewitness News Reporter alycia with more. For over 20 years, Philadelphia Police say theyve been trying to bus this man, gary, for allegedly operating one of the largest illegal street lottery organizations in the sit. Since 1997 detective jerry rocks has been working the case. Gary senior detective rocks along with district attorneys offers were finally able to announce that senior is behind bars, along with several family members who allegedly help him run the highly organized and elaborate organization. To place a bet, a player would fill out best list. They designed how it ran it illegal lottery business in philly operated out of unmark buildings like this one south 17th street. Thats just one of 40 locations that he allegedly had in the city almost all were in some of the poorest neighborhoods. Most of the people that placed bet at these locations were on fixed incomes, and then taking a loss of that money, you know, on a daily basis, or from daytoday. Illegal street lotteries tends to have better odds but not regulated. People arent protected. Authorities say most were likely losing whatever they had while his nephew, daughter , other family members in the organization were living a life of luxury. Coatesville Area Senior High School comes together, during a time of racial tension. 200 students there walked out of class to take a stand against hate after two recent incidents involving classmates earlier this week images surfaced on line of student posing with pumpkins that had racist words and symbols carved in them. School Officials Say they cannot discipline at students because the pictures were taken off campus, and authorities are not classifying it as a hate crime i felt discussed. Just for the fact that i knew some of the people in the picture. Student definitely needed to have a voice, and they needed to feel like they were heard. And the event that they planned this morning, im so very proud of them for doing that. By 3 00 hitting our High Temperature around 77 degrees. Sunshine, all day long, and more sunshine for days on the way. At 5 00, 75 degrees, so really nice evening to break out the grill, and it will be a real nice night, also, for the penn state game. State college, kick off temperature, right around 64 degrees, it will be a clear night, comfortable night, really nice evening, and great sweatshirt weather out there. High pressure is in control right now. Thats why, no rain in site across the northeast. We have those clear blue skies that will be on tap this afternoon. But, this area of High Pressure, pushing off shore, over the next couple of days, thats going to allow the flow to come in out of the south, and thats why temperatures will remain above average, really all the way through about tuesday. Then here comes our next storm system. We will see rain chances increasing, monday night, into the day on tuesday, even some gusty winds, likely, to develop, rumble every thunder cant be ruled out. Anywhere from half inch to around inch of of rain will be possible. You could also see locally higher amounts, that is certainly something we have to watch out for, but yes, change on the way. Out ahead of the front, temperatures well above average. The average high for today, 65. Looking at upper 70s on monday , 76 on tuesday, but then behind the front, temperatures crash to seasonable normal, 64 degrees, but certainly been getting used to these numbers in the 70s, lately, and we will be feeling a lot more like fall by the middle of next week.
