La Crosse council recasts alternate-side parking rule to wait until 2 inches of snow flies March 11, 2021 8:34 PM Mike Tighe Updated: Associated Press LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The La Crosse Common Council cut residents some slack on alternate-side parking during future winters, recasting an ordinance so that it doesn’t kick in until the first measurable snowfall of 2 inches or more. Thursday night, the council repealed the ordinance that required nightly parking maneuvers between Nov. 15 and March 15 — even before the snow flies – and recast it. The ordinance now will read: “The start date for alternate side parking is contingent upon a total accumulation of two (2) inches or more of seasonal snowfall, as tracked and reported by the National Weather Service,” at the La Crosse Regional Airport.
