THUNDER BAY — The Ontario labour ministry is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Friday at a Thunder Bay workplace. The deceased, whose name and age have not been released, was an employee of Finnway General Contractor Inc. The accident occurred early Friday afternoon in the company's yard at 1301 Walsh St. W. In a statement Tuesday, the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development said the worker sustained fatal injuries while working with heavy machinery. The statement did not provide further details. Ministry inspectors visited the worksite and issued a requirement to Finnway. On Monday, two inspectors returned to the jobsite with a mechanical engineer to continue the investigation.
