Lafourche DA takes the oath of office for second term Lafourche Parish District Attorney Kristine Russell officially began her second term Monday after taking the oath of office. Russell, who won re-election in November, was sworn in by Clerk of Court Annette Fontana during a small, private ceremony due to COVID-19 restrictions. She will serve a six-year term. After Russell took the oath of office, the assistant district attorneys were also sworn in to six-year terms. Russell has served as Lafourche district attorney since 2018, winning a special election after former District Attorney Cam Morvant II retired. She finished the last 2 ½ years of Morvant’s term before being re-elected in November.
