WITH two year groups now self-isolating, an Isle of Wight primary school has taken the decision to close the school early for Christmas and move to online learning. Following two cases in Year Four found over the weekend and a further case identified today (Tuesday) in Year Six, the year groups at Lanesend Primary School in Cowes are now self-isolating. Staff teams of the two year groups have also been told to self-isolate. Due to the lack of staff, Trustees of the primary school have announced it will close from the end of the school day today — a decision which was not 'made lightly' —as it cannot ensure the safe running of the school.
