Las Animas City Council gets Light and Power updates

The city of Las Animas hosted its first monthly council meeting of the new year Tuesday at Las Animas City Hall.
Ron Clodfelter, the superintendent of Light and Power, reported that the ARPA Operating Committee met Jan. 1 and discussed a possible mutual aid situation incident that could occur because of the COVID-19 pandemic but had never been seen before. It set protocols to ensure safety for city crews. Clodfelter reported that there will be a separation of crews, with enhanced communications between crews by using handheld radios. Personal protection equipment will be used by each person on the crews.
