AN EXPERT will be teaching the public about the 'secret life of flies' at an event hosted by a conservation charity. Scientist Dr Erica McAlister will be debunking some of the common myths about the insects and showing how 'truly amazing, exotic and important these creatures are'. Dr McAlister is a senior curator in the Department of Entomology at London's Natural History Museum. She has published a book entitled The Secret Life of Flies. The event on June 9, being hosted by Cumbria Wildlife Trust between 6.30 and 7.30pm, is taking place online and the public is asked to book in advance.
