Learn before you burn: New bylaw requires you read regulations to obtain a free open-air burn permit April 7, 2021 On April 19, the City of Kingston’s new Open Air Fires Bylaw takes effect. It requires all residents to obtain a permit prior to having an outdoor fire. The Open Air Fires permit is free to residents who read the open air fire regulations to obtain it. On the same day the Bylaw takes effect, the City will launch a new web page, outlining the regulations in plain language and directions on how to apply for a free Open Air Fires Permit.
