Updated 2/20/2021 5:46 PM Miles and miles of snow-covered trails greeted a group learning how to cross-country ski Saturday at Camp Reinberg in Palatine. Every year when the weather cooperates, the Forest Preserve District of Cook County holds classes to teach people the finer points of the winter sport.
About 20 people registered for the activity, and specialists Katie Grundin and Jonny Brann were on site to make sure that everyone was all laced up and knew how to click the special boots into their skis. The trails were groomed and ready for the skiers, who showed up with all different levels of skill.
