Lenawee County extends COVID-19 state of emergency through July Daily Telegram staff ADRIAN — A countywide state of emergency that allows for public bodies to meet virtually during the coronavirus pandemic has been extended for another three months. The mass COVID-19 vaccination clinics being run by the Lenawee County Health Department are also organized under the state of emergency order, a resolution passed Wednesday by the Lenawee County Board of Commissioners said. The state of emergency now runs through July 31. It had been scheduled to end on April 30 and was first declared on March 24, 2020. A state law that took effect in October allows local governing bodies, such as city councils, school boards and township boards, to meet virtually as long as a local or countywide state of emergency has been declared.
