The Leon County public library system will begin offering a free virtual after-school tutoring program. The program, called Homework Hub, pairs children as young as kindergarten through to 8th grade one-on-one with academic tutors via Zoom, three days per week. The program currently has about 100 slots available, with room to grow as more volunteers join, Leon County spokesman Matt Cavell said. Volunteer tutors for the program will come from Leon County's Volunteer network who will work with the library's staff, according to a press release. "Virtual education can play an important part in helping our children realize their full potential," Leon County Commission Chairman Rick Minor said in a statement.
