Letters to the editor for May 2 St. George Spectrum & Daily News I recently had an opportunity to hike down to " Confluence Park" from SR9. It was remarkedly serene and beautiful without another soul in sight. Due in no small part to the County's negligence in allowing the last quasi-public parking area at the SR-9 trailhead to be developed with parking now reserved for customers only. As it now stands, a person must pay a "tithe" of some sort through a purchase at "River Rock Roasters" to be able to park there. The gross stupidity of county and local officials who permitted this development without first taking into account access to this unique natural area is off any scale.
