Lewis Pass re-opens as work continues on state highways and local roads around Nelson Tasman


Waka Kotahi NZTA managed to reopen the SH6 route from Nelson to Blenheim about 5pm on Sunday, following heavy rain and flooding on Saturday.
In a statement midday Monday Waka Kotahi said crews had reopened the route connecting Lewis Pass, SH7 at Springs Junction to SH65 through the Shenandoah and onto SH6 into Nelson.
The Lower Buller Gorge route into Westport re-opened on Monday morning.
