Lewiston superintendent urges school community to follow COVID-19 guidelines as cases keep rising in school system


LEWISTON — In a letter Tuesday, Lewiston Superintendent of Schools Jake Langlais announced new coronavirus cases.
Lewiston High School has seen six new positive cases, with close contacts reaching two additional teams. As of Tuesday afternoon, 125 students have been told they need to quarantine.
The two cases at Lewiston Middle School have created close contact with three staff members and 16 students. In the letter, Langlais said they will be in quarantine until April 17.
At Farwell Elementary, the new positive case brought eight students and four staff members to quarantine until April 18.
At Connors Elementary School the one case didn’t create contact with anyone else as the student stayed home.
