Library site's demolitions nearly finished; construction could start by end of summer
GALESBURG — The new library at the corner of West Main and South Academy streets has inched one step closer to being a reality this past week, as demolitions are ongoing on the block of property that has been purchased for the new location. 
Located within the original boundaries of Galesburg — a rectangle of land between North and South Streets, with Seminar and Academy streets serving as east and west boundaries — the new library will be in the center of town, right in one of its most historic areas.
