Limerick's Live 95 Search By Live95 News Team via Getty Images Limerick based Lero is looking to combat the gender imbalance in Computer Science take-up at third level education. Just one in five Irish computer science graduates are women and CodePlus a computer science outreach programme is being rolled out across the country in partnership with Trinity, University of Limerick and NUI Galway. The programme will target 10,000 girls attending post primary school over the next 24 months to engage with Computer Science. According to Clare McInerney, Education and Public Engagement Manager with Lero, research into the CodePlus initiative shows it positively impacts female post primary school students.
