Lithuania's socdem leader accepts blame for election defeat Ignas Jačauskas, BNS2021.01.21 11:56 Gintautas Paluckas / D. Umbrasas/LRT Gintautas Paluckas, the leader of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (LSDP), has admitted personal responsibility for his party's defeat in last autumn's parliamentary elections amid calls on him not to run for re-election as chairman. At the LSDP council's meeting on Wednesday evening, Paluckas attributed the poor showing in the election to his own mistakes, the party's failure to sell its platform to voters, and moves by political opponents. “These are, of course, my own mistakes, both in some strategic and other decisions and in personal actions. It is also about the quality of our collective action, the changing political environment, and, of course, moves by political opponents,” he said.
