Umbrasas/LRT On Wednesday, Lithuanian MEP Viktor Uspaskich apololgised for his homophobic remarks after he was threatened with expulsion from the liberal Renew Europe Group at the European Parliament. "I apologise [...] sincerely, that my words, though perhaps too rude or used not carefully enough, but taken out of context, caused misunderstanding, grief and uproar," Uspaskich said in a letter seen by BNS. The leader of the Lithuanain Labour Party assured his colleagues in Renew Europe "that in the future, I will do my utmost to formulate my speeches more carefully".
