Lockdown taking its toll on transgender persons Peshawar May 13, 2021 PESHAWAR: The lockdown necessitated by the coronavirus pandemic has brought routine life to a grinding halt, leaving little space for people to make ends meet at a time of unprecedented slum in business activities. But one group of people, who find it difficult to keep body and soul together, are the members of the transgender community. Though most of the people have started feeling the pinch, they are the ones who were hit hard as holding gatherings and functions were banned to check the spread of the coronavirus. Given the soaring coronavirus cases, the government has imposed Section 144 to prevent gatherings and functions.
