Louth CoCo Chief Executive faces call to resign after funding denied for Drogheda Port Access Northern Cross Route

A local councillor has called on the Chief Executive of
Louth County Council to resign over failure to secure funding for the Drogheda Port Access/ Northern Cross Route.
The project, which has been planned for 13 years, was overlooked in yesterday's announced
Urban Regeneration and Redevelopment Fund.
It's the third time it has been denied funding, while the Minister for Housing and Local Government Darragh O'Brien said he will work with the council to identify improvements in their proposal for the next URDF.
It lies in stark contrast with the €7.4 million awarded for redevelopment work at Bridge Street and Linenhall Street in Dundalk through the scheme.
