EARLIER this week, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Guadiz was suspended from his post amid corruption allegations. Two days later, the 'whistleblower,' executive assistant Jeff Tumbado, withdrew his accusations but maintained that anomalies within the agency should be investigated. It is good that the Department of Transportation (DoTr) continues to push for a deeper look. Apart from the corruption issue, the LTFRB's effectiveness and relevance deserve a serious review.
