Ryan Anderson/Stuff Five-year-old Kong was hit on a driveway leading up into school grounds. Counties Manukau East police Senior Sergeant Anson Lin said at the time of the incident that police had forbidden a 77-year-old man from driving. She said police’s thoughts were with the girl’s family and the wider Pigeon Mountain Primary School community. Kong’s family said in a death notice the girl would be “greatly missed” by her parents and two sisters. Stuff has approached Kong's family for comment, but they declined to speak to media. Both police and the school said they could not comment further as the matter was now before the courts.
