Regional news A 54-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman in Wigan. Wayne Ahearne, 54, of Scot Lane, Wigan has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Crown Court (Crown Square) on Monday, April 12. At around 2.05pm on Saturday, March 13, police were called to Scot Lane, to reports that a woman had been assaulted.
