A 36-year-old man — who proposed to his then-lover outside of court in January after hitting her — was again back in court for assaulting her following their first court appearance. Andre Chantiloupe was arrested on March 1 after choking the complainant to the point that bystanders had to rescue her. Chantiloupe pleaded guilty to a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm when he appeared before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Wednesday, in relation to the incident. The two made headlines in January after Chantiloupe proposed to the complainant on the court building and promised to seek help and be a better person. At that time, Chantiloupe was before the court for assaulting the complainant.
