Man rescued after jumping into Seneca River from bridge in Baldwinsville Updated 10:21 AM; Baldwinsville, N.Y. -- A man was rescued from the Seneca River on Thursday night after he jumped into the water, according to the Baldwinsville Police Department. At about 11:45 p.m. officers found a man who had climbed to the top of a bridge over the Seneca River on State Route 48, police said. Officers tried to encourage the man to climb down from the bridge, but the man ran along the top of the steel beams, climbed down the bridge supports on the south side of the river and ran onto Paper Mill Island, according to police.
