Up until Monday, the embattled state-owned low-cost airline operated only two aircraft for return flights on three routes daily between Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban. While Gqeberha, East London, Bloemfontein, and Zanzibar exist as options on its website, there are no scheduled flights to these destinations. The news came through on Monday that the board and shareholders have agreed to place the airline under business rescue. Moneyweb reports, that the three labour unions at Mango appeared to force the government’s hand by filing papers at the South Gauteng High Court.
