The Manipur cabinet has approved the appointment of the son of sub-divisional police officer Chingtham Anand Singh, who was shot dead in the line of duty, as an assistant sub-inspector in Manipur Police. The cabinet also approved an increase in allowance for Manipur Police Commando and state forces in vulnerable areas. The fifth session of the 12th Manipur assembly will commence from February 28.
