9 & 10 News April 27, 2021 In one week, voters in Manistee will be voting on a bond proposal for Manistee Area Public Schools. The district is proposing a millage that would demolish one of its elementary schools and expand on other buildings. Ronald Stoneman, superintendent of MAPs, says, “We really have a great proposal put together and a vision that’s been created over about three or four years of research and work and outreach to the community.” The district is proposing a nearly $31-million bond for a term of 25 years. For a home valued around $100,000, the owner would pay about $265 a year.
