In other business from the meeting, Anderson said the striping of the square will begin as soon as possible.
Also, the council approved Brandt to serve as Mayor Pro Tem; and the second reading of an ordinance to amend Article III, Chapter 215 of the Municipal Code of Ordinances.
The council also approved a request from “Friends of Jim” to host “Jim the Wonder Dog Days” on Saturday, May 15. This will include the closure of Lafayette Avenue between North and Marion Streets between 6 a.m. and noon.
In addition, the council approved the Saline County Fair Association’s request to host the 64th Annual Saline County BBQ for drive-thru meals from 3 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 5. The organization will be utilizing the east side of the square.
