Emma McManus’ family have asked that the remaining hearings of the inquest into her death be held in private, local media in Barbados has reported. The 40-year-old mother of three was found dead in the couple’s Sandy Lane home in the early hours of 30 December 2020. Nations News shared The Saturday Sun’s reports that attorney Maya Carrington sent correspondence to the Coroner’s Court on behalf of her husband, John Paul McManus, asking for the remaining inquests to be done ‘in camera’ to protect their three young daughters, who are all under the age of nine. Autopsy and toxicology reports are due to be read into evidence when the inquest continues on 26 February.
