Cooperate Governance MEC Sipho Hlomuka says a court ruling declaring the appointment of three top officials at the Nquthu Municipality invalid - is a win for accountability and transparency within government.

The Pietermaritzburg High Court handed down judgement on Monday.
Councillors in Nquthu believed the appointments of the Acting Municipal Manager, Acting Chief Financial Officer and Acting Director of Planning, Housing and Land Administration - were in contravention of the standing rules and orders. 
Cogta KZN spokesperson, Senzelwe Mzila said: "MEC Hlomuka believes that his judgment is yet another confidence booster for the sphere of local government when it comes to good governance.
